One of the first things I notice when I’m working with someone is the moment they stop listening to themselves.
It usually happens when a decision is on the table.
Instead of hearing their own “inner authority”, they start listening to expectations. To fear. To what someone else would do. To what seems reasonable. To what they think they should want.
The body changes. The breath changes. The energy contracts.
And suddenly the decision isn’t coming from their own knowing anymore.
Most people think they have a clarity problem… or an indecision problem.
Often, they have a self-trust problem.
They struggle to trust that what they want isn’t selfish or impossible.
We’re making decisions all day long, many of them unconsciously, and those decisions create our reality.
What we tolerate or pursue. What we believe is possible or what we’re worthy of.
Something I’ve come to understand deeply, and that I see confirmed in every client I work with, is that each of us has an inherent way of making decisions that’s uniquely ours. A process that, when we follow it, leads to choices that feel genuinely satisfying. When we override it, which most of us have been trained to do, we end up living someone else’s life.
It’s one of the reasons I love working with Human Design. It maps this process with remarkable precision. And gives people a language for something they’ve always felt but never been able to name.
And when someone makes a decision that is true for them, you can feel the resonance.
The body relaxes. Something opens. There’s more energy available.
And over time, you begin to recognize that feeling for yourself.
So here’s a question to sit with:
Where in your life are you making decisions from obligation, fear, or someone else’s expectations?
And where do you already know the truth, but haven’t fully trusted yourself to act on it?
With love,
Michelle
