I look forward to offering a new space for sessions and connecting to all the Manhattan referrals many of you have sent my way. Thank you!

On Monday night in BodyTalk and Open Movement, we did some group work on “It’s okay to be sad.”

(Note: There are 2 more Monday night classes. Combining group healing and movement has been so powerful and beautiful. Please feel free to join the last 2 classes.)

Sadness and joy are both related to the Fire element in Traditional Chinese Medicine. They can be viewed as the same emotion, on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Joy allows us to be present and to feel our aliveness. It neutralizes all the emotions. Sadness also allows us to be present and provides the invaluable experience of compassion. Too much joy can lead to anxiety and too much sadness can lead to depression.

Joy and sadness do a dance with one another as life changes from moment to moment, day to day.

My wish for you is that wherever you are in that dance, you can hold space for yourself, and “allow the dance to do you.” I say this to my dance students all the time, so they don’t feel like they have to constantly do the movement…

Awareness and space allow us to be present enough to experience the dynamic flow of life. And that dance is amazing.

Session for “It’s okay to be sad”

Emotional Release of Sadness from the Small Intestine
and
Belief Systems in the Heart “It is Safe to Receive Love”
–TAP OUT–

Tap gently over your head brain, your heart center, and your gut brain (around your navel) as you take deep breaths.

The Heart and Small Intestine are organs that help process your joy and sadness. The Emotional Release will help with any sadness that has been stuck in your digestion and discernment. This release can take you out of feeling overwhelmed. It will also support your thinking and clarity, as the Small Intestine is related to your “intellect.”
Working with “It is Safe to Receive Love” will allow the heart to become more open, bringing healthy joy, via love, into your life. You can say this phrase aloud as you tap over your 3 brain complex (head, heart and gut).
