When these words came out of my client’s mouth, I had to let out a serious yeehaw!
We were working on their mindset to reach their income and fundraising goals, and they mentioned a time in their life when they were super successful in the past.
I got curious and asked…
“How did you make it work?”
Without skipping a beat, they said:
I knew what I was doing.
I knew I was the best.
I would unabashedly tell it to anyone.
And I was like DAAAAAANG!
Those words were gold.
I’m curious to know… how do you react to hearing those words?
Is there an area in your life where those words are true for you …even if it’s making your favorite side dish for your family dinner? (That totally counts!)
Because if there’s any area of your life where you can pull up that energy, you can translate it to other areas.
Here are 2 tips to bring out the BEST in you and let that seep into every area of your life.
1 – It’s okay to be confident! I’m not 100% sure who I heard say this (I think it was Oprah!), but essentially the person said that there’s “being good at something” and then there’s “being good and also knowing it.”
Your belief in being the best (YOUR best) organizes your thoughts and energy around the best expression of you.
And you can be the best and still practice humility. That’s a win-win.
2 – Being your best is a generous gift. What if you could see that your fullest expression actually inspires and creates more for you and others?
Just think about figure skating (or your favorite sport or creative expression of choice). Don’t you love that feeling when you see someone do a quadruple Lutz, unabashedly shining their light?
While I lived in New York, I remember always hearing people coming out of performances saying that they just wanted to DANCE and make art because they were so inspired by watching a bunch of people do their best on stage.
Shine your light with confidence, humility, and grace…in whatever you’re uniquely here to do. The world becomes a better place because of it.
