When I first heard this tip on how to deal with burnout and overworking, it opened my eyes big time!
I work with a lot of creative, high-achieving clients, and I see people hit exhaustion left and right.
Burnout is part of the growth process. You learn your boundaries and exactly what’s needed to sustain the work it takes to create your dreams.
But you might start to feel super guilty about taking time off, and think you’re not doing enough because you haven’t hit your goals or created the perfect life yet. (Big red flag!)
I could teach you about this growth process for weeks (and I do in fact in my group courses), but I want to give you this tip so you don’t find yourself overworked, overextended, and burned-out… again.
Try this subtle but powerful reframe I got from my mentor:
Time off is not a reward.
It’s part of self-care.
Your time off is just as important as the work you do.
You don’t take time off or vacation only because you’ve already reached your goal or finished the work.
You take time off because you want it and need it, regardless of where you are in relation to your goal!
I see so many ambitious people go for something, and they push and push until they get to a point of diminishing return.
If that’s happening to you, you’re backpedaling away from your goal!
It’s definitely a sign that you need to take a break and probably also learn how to set clearer boundaries and priorities.
For now… whether your goal is showing up as your best self in your relationships or finally getting a dream project off the ground, make sure you put downtime in your calendar first.
Rest is just as important as working hard.
In support of your dreams!

What clients are saying…
I’ve gone from feeling scared to share, scared to ask, and scared to own my love of what I do… to feeling more clear and confident than ever about my path. I quit my jobs. I launched my dream business and now have a website, clients, AND I am in love… When I step back and look at what has shifted… my answer would be everything. I was on the fence about money and whether the program would be “worth it,” but I’ve experienced profound change and know 1000000% that doing this work is worth every penny.

Michelle helped me get clear on how badly I want my dreams and how to get there. I’ve learned to focus and approach my work with an urgency that has taken me from stagnancy to something more vibrant, confident, professional, directed, and aligned with my desires. In the past I would have given up, having bumped into some resistance, and doing this work has shifted that completely. While I understand the worry about spending the money, the investment made me focus and prioritize myself much more than I would have otherwise.
